Welcome to GIFT

Ghausia’s Independent Friends Trust

GIFT is the PTA-UK registered GGHS Friends Association.

GIFT operates as a fundraising friends association helping GGHS reach those at need within the local community and further. We hold regular fundraising events and have helped local charities such as Pendle Hospice and supported the Muscular Dystrophy campaign. Members are parents, guardians, teaching and non – teaching staff and friends from the local community.

We aim to utilise our association as a PTA to connect, inspire and work together with all members of society and faith towards a common goal and is open to everyone even if they only have a small amount of time available to get involved.

Check out some of the ways in which you can help GIFT…

Bag2School : Your Unwanted Textiles Needed

GIFT operate a Bag2School collection of unwanted textiles, clothing, belts, bedding, shoes and soft toys. GIFT members, students and thier families respond by asking freinds, families and neighbours for thier recyclable unwanted goods. As well as raising funds the GIFT Bag2School scheme also helps the environment by helping to divert unwanted textiles away from landfill. A recent report has shown that textile collection schemes are helping to reduce the volume of textiles discarded as municipal solid waste.

Volunteering : Give GIFT your time, energy and skills…

As a GIFT volunteer you can make a decision to help on your own accord, free from pressure to act from others. GIFT volunteers predominantly express a sense of achievement and motivation, and this is ultimately generated from their desire and enthusiasm to help. It may be true that no one person can solve all the world’s problems, but what you can do is make that little corner of the world where you live just that little bit better and that’s what we aim to do. Get involved and become a GIF Volunteer today

Fairs, Fun & Fundraisers held throughout the year.

GIFT fundraisers are a fun way of promoting the school and strengthen ties with the local community. Special GIFT Fundraisers and Events are used to generate valuable income which allows the school to progress and in turn help those in need. We encourage our pupils, staff and GIFT members to take part in planning and organising fundraisers and welcome their suggestions, we feel the various GIFT events held throughout the year are a central part of our mission and your input is vital to our success.

Other ways you can help!

Donate Regularly by Standing Order

You can donate regularly to GGHS by setting up a standing order with your bank. This allows you to be in control of how much money you wish to donate and the frequency of the payment.

Download a Standing Order Form and hand in to your bank, or you can post it to us to deliver to your bank

This regular donation will start to appear on your account from your next statement.

Give As You Earn

With Give As You Earn, you can give directly from your pre-tax salary, so money that would normally go to the taxman goes to charity instead.

You just decide how much you want to give each month – it could be a couple of pounds, or hundreds or thousands – and who you want to give it to. Then your donation comes out of your pay packet before the taxman touches it.

What are the benefits?

You benefit because you don’t pay any tax on the donations you make. If you’re a basic rate taxpayer, a gift of £6.41 only actually costs you £5.

How do I give?

Give As You Earn is incredibly flexible – you can give as much or as little as you like and change how you give. To join Give As You Earn your employer will need to be running a scheme. Find out if your employer offers Give As You Earn, or ask us to contact them if they don’t.

In-kind donations are those donations that are done in goods and services rather than money.

Sometimes it is not cash you give, but some other valuable. The most obvious one would be the services of a professional. An accountant might donate his time to assist in the filing of our accounts or a plumber may service the boiler for us. These are sometimes the most valuable sorts of donations.

A donation in kind can be a product, equipment or capacity of a business that is donated to a charitable cause. This can vary from imperfect stock, to spare or overproduced stock, old equipment, low cost office space or spare transport capacity.

This can help save the need to throw away or clear out items at low prices; whilst helping good causes. This type of donation usually requires more thought than a financial donation, but can be extremely useful to good causes at little cost to your business. It is important however to check with us that your donations are needed.
